Job Description

This permanent, part‑time opportunity offers hands‑on experience in the OSHC industry. You'll be supported every step of the way by a Director of Service, ensuring you have everything you need to thrive in your role.

Service Location: Hunter Valley Grammar School is located in Ashtonfield, close to transport links. The service is a pack‑up, pack‑down set up within beautiful manicured gardens. This service is a shared space with the school ELC unit. Excellent & purpose built space with a strong team in place and great reputation.

You’ll work afternoon shifts, Monday to Friday: 2:30pm – 6:00pm for a total of 17.5 hours per week.

As the Second in Charge (2IC), you’ll be a key leader in delivering high-quality care and creating memorable experiences for the children in our service. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about childcare and leadership, ready to make a meaningful impact on the children, parents, and team.

Involved

- Engage with the school community, attending events and assemblies.

- Assist with the creation and implementation of enriching experiences based on the preferences of the children in your program.

- Foster genuine relationships with children and their families.

- Play and have FUN with primary school aged children.

- Support ensuring your program complies with industry regulations.

The Successful Candidate

- Ideally you have previous experience working in Before and After School Care or education, but this is by no means essential – we can train you

- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and still a big kid at heart

- Confident communicator with children, parents, team members, and school principals.

- Strong team player with excellent problem-solving skills and a can‑do, positive attitude.

- Passionate about creating enriching experiences for primary‑aged children.

- Energetic, enthusiastic, and love to have FUN

- Relevant Diploma qualification (equivalent or working toward it) as per ACECQA standards.
