Plan, lead and coordinate the varied operational procedures required for the monitoring, collection, analysis and reporting of information relating to water resources in Tasmania.

As a Senior Hydrographer, you’ll plan and coordinate operational procedures for the monitoring, collection, analysis, and reporting of water resource data across the state. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and innovation of our water data systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operating the NRE Tas time-series database “AQUARIUS”.
- Maintaining streamflow and groundwater station infrastructure.
- Carrying out repairs to hydraulic civil structures and electronic water monitoring equipment.
- Providing specialised and authoritative advice on water quantity issues.

Hours per fortnight
73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).
- A Diploma from a recognised TAFE institution, or an equivalent qualification, appropriate to the nature of the work. Civil Engineering or Surveying qualifications highly regarded.
- Unrestricted driver’s licence.
- Ability to swim.
- Drone and GNSS data acquisition and processing capabilities.
- Swift Water/Boating training.
- A current First Aid certificate.
