About the Opportunity

Metcash is actively seeking a dynamic and results-driven Wholesale Manager to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will have the opportunity to shape and execute strategies that drive business growth, enhance client relationships, and lead a high-performing sales team. You will oversee all aspects of our wholesale operations, from sales and inventory management to contract negotiations and market analysis. If you have a proven track record in wholesale distribution, excellent leadership abilities, and a passion for driving results, this is the perfect opportunity for you to make an impact at a growing company that values innovation, collaboration, and success.

In this Role

1. Deliver on wholesale sales and income budget and drive improvements in Cost of Goods.
2. Develop and deliver category range, pricing and promotional plans that are aligned to the strategic priorities of each channel.
3. Be the subject matter expert for the business for category growth strategies, utilising internal and external insights.
4. Own and manage all supplier relationships including the supplier profitability to our network (wholesale and retail) by channel, DIFOT, JBP's, Supplier Engagement.
5. Negotiate the best commercial outcome for Customers, Retailers and Metcash.
6. Develop and deliver the category's private label strategy.
7. Periodic trading performance reviews, making recommendations for performance improvement.

You're Likely a Match If

1. Strong negotiation skills with a focus on supplier collaboration for mutual growth.
2. Experience in Category Management and promotional planning.
3. Knowledge of Shopper and Category trends, applied in an FMCG environment.
4. Customer-focused, with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
5. Strong commercial acumen and understanding of key Category Management success factors.
6. Proven track record of delivering clear, actionable category strategies and plans.
