Our client the trustee for R ANGELE FAMILY TRUST t/a ITAL Foodgroup Pty Ltd. a wholly Australian owned and operated company and is one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of speciality biscuits and cakes to retail, wholesale and export markets. Ital Biscuits and Cakes' manufacturing capacity extends well beyond producing for their own labels – with capabilities to manufacture for any large or small organisation under their own private label. Ital is the largest manufacturer of Panettone cakes in Australia.

The client is currently searching for a Production Manager to work on a full-time permanent basis. As the Production Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of production facilities. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the production process, from rostering to process improvement and team leadership. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong leader who can drive results and maintain the highest standards of food safety and quality.

You will be responsible for the coordination of team members to deliver manufacturing KPI's across manufacturing lines, particularly in relation to safety, quality, operating costs, labour and production plans.

As a leader within the business, you will drive best practice and continuous improvement initiatives to maximise efficiencies and improve operational performance. With a focus on safety, and a passion for quality, you will partner with stakeholders to deliver consistent results by living the principles of being open, honest and collaborative.

Minimum Requirements:
Advance Diploma or higher and at least 4 years previous experience in the similar role is must.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role your main responsibilities include:
Plan production activities in terms of output quality and quantity, cost, time available and labour requirements
Ensure that the labour cost base is the most productive, efficient and cost competitive for the industry
Identify, drive and embed continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiency programmes
Monitor and keep within budget, seek approval for out of scope spend • Work cross functionally, build strong relationships with different stakeholders
Ensure all orders are clearly identified and packed, including special customer orders
Manage production teams to maximise production of fresh products
Train and assist the processing and packaging workers to handle stock to minimise waste
Monitor stock usage and determining yields
Monitor production output and costs, and adjust processes and resources to minimise costs
Supervise that the correct stock is being used and that it is returned to the correct cool rooms upon completion
Control the operation of production and quality procedures
Ensure full adherence to health and safety standards for all facilities, materials and products
Relationship management of suppliers
Ensure labour is utilised effectively, ensuring all site targets are met in accordance with the overall production schedule
Participate in root cause analysis relating to plant reliability or process issues and site head leader on afternoon shift for all key decisions and required escalations

Good knowledge of production processes

Proven track record of achieving departmental business plans and productivity agendas • Understanding of quality control measures and standards
