POSITION: BUILDER'S LABOURER/ EARTHMOVING LABOURER

Job Type: Full - Time

Salary: $45 to $50 per hour

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Loading and unloading trucks and moving gears and pallets around the construction sites.
- Moving dirt and unloading trucks using lifting and tipping devices.
- Delivering all supplies/goods to different jobs on site by truck whilst ensuring goods are stowed and securely covered to prevent loss and damage.
- Observing safety requirements when loading and unloading vehicles.
- Conducting regular quality checks of trucks to ensure they can be driven safely.
- Estimating weights to comply with load limitations and ensuring safe distribution of weight.
- Carry out general site clean-up, including removal of debris and maintenance of tidy work areas.
- Load, unload, and move construction materials, tools, and equipment as directed.
- Assist tradespeople and machine operators by performing manual tasks and supplying materials.
- Perform basic landscaping, digging, and trenching for infrastructure or building works.
- Operate power tools and hand tools under supervision for various labouring tasks.
- Set up and dismantle temporary fencing, signage, and barriers for safe work zones.
- Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete, gravel, or soil as required.
- Support the erection of structures or installation of fixtures by holding or positioning components.
- Conduct basic maintenance duties such as sweeping, pressure cleaning, or minor repairs.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE in accordance with site and company policies.
- Represent DCOH in a professional and ethical manner adhering to the DCOH Code of Conduct.
- Other duties as reasonably directed within their scope and experience.

SKILL AND QUALIFICATIONS:

- Relevant experience in operating earth moving machines
- Licenses – White Card (CIC), Driver’s License, National Police Clearance and Defence Common Access Card (DCAC) as required.
- Training – Working at Heights competency.
- Physically fit – adherence to best-practice manual handling and performing physical tasks for long periods.
- Teamwork and communication – effectively collaborate and assist tradespersons on job sites.
- Basic tool handling and problem-solving – able to use hand and power tools and adapt to on-site requirements.

POSITION: ROOF PLUMBER

Job Type: Full - Time

Salary: $60 to $65 per hour

ABOUT THIS ROLE:

The purpose of this role is to fabricate and install commercial, industrial or domestic roof framing and trusses and install metal roofing iron on the framing to ensuring it is insulated and waterproof

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Ensure all necessary parts have been ordered for fabrication and installation.
- Plan the work with other tradespeople.
- Follow safety precautions during all phases of the work.
- Keep record of materials required such as steel/timber sizes.
- Fabricate, erect and install roof trusses.
- Prepare the roof for roofing iron including the laying of safety mesh and insulation including vapour barriers which are extremely important in the tropics
- Installation of the metal roofing iron including the installation of sheet metal box guttering, rain water sumps, downpipes, purpose made guttering and all types of flashings (weatherproof coverings) as well as measuring, cutting, joining and laying the metal roof sheeting
- Handle welding and carpentry materials, tools and equipment
- Apply protective paint coating systems on joins, etc if required

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

- Previous roof and truss installation & fabrication experience
- An understanding of the commercial aluminium window and door fabricating industry
- Previous experience in the use of tools such as saws, drills, welders
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Enjoy working in a team
- Exceptional work ethic and organisational skills
- Drivers License required
- Roofing experience: 1 year (Required)

POSITION: HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) MANAGER

Job Type: Full - Time

Salary: $78 to $83 per hour

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Set the HR agenda, working in partnership with the Directors and Senior Management to identify and facilitate effective, consistent people-management strategies that align with broader business objectives and drive an engaged and positive company culture.
- Execute HR strategies in a timely manner and take leadership over the day-to-day management of these functions.
- Provide high quality confidential HR advice to General Managers and Executives across the business, mostly relating to legislation, performance management, HR grievances and employee benefits.
- Ensure Enterprise Agreements and other applicable policies and procedures comply with the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards, and relevant Awards; renegotiating Agreements as required.
- Advise on and implement compliant and consistent change management procedures.
- Collaborate with and support the Group Payroll Officer, The SEQ Manager, our external HR partners and other internal and external stakeholders as required.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment and support hiring managers in the business, from drafting job descriptions and advertising roles to selection, contracting and onboarding.
- Ensure effective contract management practices. Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system
- Assess training needs, organise learning and development programs and monitor outcomes.
- Coordinate the Group’s participation in working visa schemes and support the business, as required, in applications to employ overseas skilled workers on visas. Analyse and report on HR metrics across the business.
- Oversee and refine employee standards, policies and procedures in conjunction with the SEQ Manager and other relevant parties.
- Manage employee relations function with respect to workplace disputes, investigations and disciplinary matters.
- Provide input and support to HR projects and other initiatives.
- Be a point of support for our Apprenticeship and Graduates program(s), to ensure their effective running, positive participant experience and positive employer reputation.
- Coordinate School Based Placements amongst the group, ensuring positive participant experience and employer reputation.
- Contribute to a physically and psychologically safe workplace.
- Engage with additional third-party stakeholders, including but not limited to Union Officials, other employee representatives and Fair Work personnel.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIAL - SKILLS

- Significant human resources generalist experience, with a strategic approach and proven results.
- People-oriented and able to effectively build and manage strong interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
- Excels in autonomous environments, while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes in efficient timeframes.
- Excellent understanding of the Australian industrial relations landscape, including ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and Awards.
- Tech savvy and comfortable with HR systems, databases and devising analytic metrics.
- Demonstrated change management experience.
- Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and willingness to seek solutions.
- A natural leader who empowers and motivates others to also perform at their best.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIAL - QUALIFICATIONS

- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g. Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Psychology or Business Management).
- 5+ years of experience at HR Manager level. Full working rights in Australia.

DESIRABLE

- Experience in using HR and Payroll System Humanforce.
- Experience working in a HR role within the construction and/or hospitality industry.
