On behalf of our client, we are advertising. Solvtrans Rederi AS are looking for a Ship's Master to join their team on a full-time basis, located in Port Huon Tasmania.

As the Master, you will be responsible for the operation of the 116-metre-long vessel, navigation, and overseeing the operation of the vessel including all maintenance activities.

You will also be responsible for compliance with all relevant requirements of AMSA, regulations and maritime legislation, and for ensuring the maximum efficiency and operational availability of the crew. The Master is also required to build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the timely and efficient operation of the vessel.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- Deck Officer Class 1 or Master Unlimited Certificate
- Certificate of Proficiency for Seafarers with designated security duties
- Pilot Exemption Certificate for the port of Hobart
- Advanced Safety Training for Maritime Officers (80 hours).
- You must have more than 4 years documented experience with a live fish carrier or well-boat with highly developed understanding of live fish transportation. Demonstrated experience handling live fish and a demonstrated knowledge of maritime law and legislation is required.
- Knowledge and understanding of maintenance program software (PREMASTER or similar), and experience with ozone and O2 generators, circulation systems and fish pumps is also essential.
- An excellent communicator with strong attention to detail, you will have the ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records and build robust and meaningful relationships with stakeholders.
- Detailed knowledge of WHS regulations is essential.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and experience leading, motivating and developing a small crew will be highly regarded.
