Job Overview

Where and How You Work

You have the flexibility to work from our flagship campus in Sydney or one of our other locations in Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, or Adelaide. Alternatively, you can choose to work from home or a combination of both.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop systems for generating and editing designs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions.
  • Guide machine learning engineers and backend teams through project selection, knowledge sharing, and balancing delivery expectations.
  • Foster growth and skills development within the team, keeping up-to-date with industry advancements and good software engineering practices.
  • Contribute meaningfully to the engineering direction and strategy for the team.
  • Effectively plan resources, considering the feasibility of projects in relation to the skills and strengths of team members.
  • Closely collaborate with Product Managers and other Engineering Leads to understand and contribute to the product roadmap.
  • Partner with Product, Research, and Platform teams across the Generative AI Supergroup to achieve shared goals.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a ML Engineer or leading ML product teams, with a proven track record in running long-term engineering projects in the ML space.
  • Experience in both technical and people leadership, making sound decisions and delivering outcomes on technical projects.
  • Strong research skills, with the ability to stay abreast of the latest developments in deep learning and generative AI, capable of translating cutting-edge research into practical solutions.
  • The ability to support the team in balancing exploratory/innovative work with high-priority feature delivery.
  • Effective communication of the value of short- and long-term features, translating technical details to business value and building support and trust from stakeholders.
