- Keep children safe and support families through their most vulnerable moments.

- Provide intensive wraparound support to families with multiple and complex needs.

- Increase your take-home pay with up to $15,900 in salary packaging benefits.

Your new role

Bring your holistic expertise in children and families casework and help families stay safe, connected and together.

Join our Family Preservation and Reunification Response Program, supporting parents and caregivers to build safe, nurturing and self-sufficient home environments.

You’ll provide intensive wraparound case management to families with complex and multiple needs. You’ll also deliver assertive outreach, complete risk assessments, lead care team planning and develop creative, strengths‑based interventions to engage hard‑to‑reach families.

Working as part of a collaborative care team, you’ll help address the safety and developmental needs of children and young people, and support parents in strengthening their resilience and self‑determination.

This is a full‑time position, funded to 30 June 2026, based at our Prahran office.

Benefits of working at Uniting

Our work isn’t always easy, but it always matters. You’ll play a key role in helping families stay safe, connected and together in the local community.

In addition to your salary (SCHADS Level 6 starting at $110K) + super, you can access the following:

- Access salary packaging to reduce your fortnightly tax and increase take‑home pay.

- Increase your annual leave entitlements through our purchase leave programme.

- Receive a 10% discount on the childcare subsidy gap fee at Uniting Early Learning.

- Up to 10 weeks of paid parental leave for primary caregivers (4 for secondary).

- Access training and development opportunities to help you grow.

- Opt in or out of public holidays and be respected for your unique background.

Your skills and experience

First and foremost, you are ready to step into a senior practitioner role, bringing considerable experience within the child, youth and family welfare sector, including experience working with Child Protection.

You also bring with you:

- Demonstrated understanding of theoretical approaches relevant to working with infants, children, young people and families, including the Best Interests Framework

- Demonstrated ability to undertake risk assessments and plan and implement appropriate intervention strategies to engage families

- A strengths‑based, child and family centred approach to case management, strong time management and communication skills

- You will have a degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology or a child and family welfare‑related discipline and a current driver’s licence.
