The Role
The Information and Records Management Officer is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex information and records management work within an integrated workforce. They are responsible for ensuring compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making, and Defence's mission and policy requirements.
An APS 6 Information and Records Management Officer works independently with reasonable autonomy and accountability for outcomes. They exercise initiative and judgment in interpreting policy and applying practices and procedures.
The officer will engage with stakeholders on complex issues, identifying and responding to their needs to achieve work unit and Defence objectives. They will also contribute to ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
About our Team
The Integrated Warfighting Networks Systems Program Office (IWNSPO) manages the acquisition, integration, and sustainment of command and control warfare systems for the Australian Defence Force, both domestically and overseas. This includes computer applications supporting operations, IT infrastructure, and command and control systems across the five Domains, providing critical joint-information warfare capabilities for the Australian Defence Force.

The ideal candidate is motivated, eager to learn and drive change, with strong business acumen, research governance, and stakeholder engagement skills. They should understand information management standards and be able to interpret and comply with information governance requirements, including relevant legislation and policies.
Key responsibilities include analyzing information policy enquiries, resolving issues, collaborating with stakeholders, setting priorities, and managing workflows in a team environment to support organisational objectives.
