Opportunity

A privately owned, high-growth industrial services business based in Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs is seeking a commercially minded and hands-on Head of Finance to lead the finance function through a period of exciting transformation and strategic expansion.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this newly created leadership role offers the chance to influence key decisions at the executive level while building out and elevating the finance function.

The Role

As Head of Finance, you will:

- Own end-to-end strategic financial planning, including budgets, forecasts, and long-range models
- Partner with senior leadership to prepare board-ready business cases and financial insights
- Drive clarity and action through timely and meaningful financial reporting and analysis
- Champion process improvement and best practice implementation across finance operations
- Lead and mentor a small but growing team, fostering capability and alignment
- Ensure robust governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks

What We're Looking For

You're a finance leader who thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments. You're as comfortable in the detail as you are in the boardroom — confident presenting financial recommendations, and capable of turning insight into action.

Key qualifications and experience include:

- Senior-level finance experience (Head of Finance, Finance Director, or Financial Controller)
- Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder influencing capability
- Track record of producing decision-ready financial material
- Professional finance qualification (CA OR CPA)
- Ideally experienced in entrepreneurial or growth-stage businesses
