Department of Health Community, Mental Health & Wellbeing CMHW - Tasmanian Health Services Applications must be submitted by Sunday 01 February, 2026 11:55 PM Sunday 1 February, 2026 11:55 PM AEST Award/Classification: Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Award, Registered Nurse, Grade 6 $118,297 to $125,543 per annum Employment type: Permanent, full-time Region: South Location: Permanent Role - We are seeking a suitably experienced Clinical Nurse Educator to join the Child Health and Parenting Service The Team: The Child Health and Parenting Service (CHaPS) are looking for suitable candidates to join our dynamic education team as a Clinical Nurse Educator based in Hobart. CHaPS provide important health and wellbeing services to families across Tasmania with children aged 0-5. The service promotes the healthy development and wellbeing of children, providing growth and developmental assessments, health-focused early intervention, referrals and connections with other early childhood service providers. The CHaPS support families as they transition into parenthood, enhancing parental confidence and capacity, and providing information and services focused on building relationships between children and parents/care givers. The Role: The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) facilitates and supports the education and development of the nursing and midwifery workforce across all learner levels. Working within a quality and safety framework, the CNE promotes person-centred care, evidence-based practice, clinical reasoning, and research. The role encompasses activities such as transition programs, clinical practice placements for pre- and post-registration courses, and professional development initiatives tailored to diverse clinical settings. You will need: - Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge, skills, and experience, with the ability to lead change in nursing practice through a quality and safety framework. - Ability to apply effective teaching and learning strategies in clinical environments, including the design, implementation, and evaluation of education and training programs. - Sound knowledge of contemporary education and health issues, including critical thinking, reflective practice, and the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards, and their impact on workforce capability and client care. - Capacity to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate nurse education programs and activities, including core and mandatory training, in collaboration with leadership teams and education providers. - Ability to function as an integral member of the clinical leadership team within practice settings. - Skills to contribute to the organisation’s strategic reform agenda and support leadership in coordinating clinical placements for nursing students and staff. - Competence in maintaining accurate documentation of program activities in line with organisational policies and requirements. - Commitment to promoting and participating in quality improvement and research initiatives, including clinical risk management, to foster a culture of learning and professional growth. Details of appointment: Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76hours per fortnight, commencing from the 1 March 2026. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies. Salary: $118,297 to $125,543 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. - Salary range is in accordancewithNurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: - Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type Salary Packaging: You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
