Physical Education & Health Teacher – Leongatha
Chairo Christian School is a non‑denominational Christian school with 1,900 students attending five picturesque campuses throughout the Latrobe Valley and the south‑eastern outskirts of Melbourne. Our mission is to provide excellence in Christ‑centred education in partnership with families within a caring Christian community, preparing students for further study, careers, service and life.
We are seeking a Physical Education & Health Teacher to commence Term 1 next year at our Leongatha campus.
Responsibilities
- Deliver curriculum consistent with guidelines and policies set by the school board and leadership team, from a Christian worldview perspective.
- Foster a safe and caring environment for all students while embodying the love of Jesus Christ.
- Maintain a learning environment encouraging positive attitudes and challenging expectations.
- Effectively assess student performance and provide encouraging, confidence‑building feedback.
- Plan and carry out daily activities to fulfil objectives of the school’s educational policies and mission statement.
- Build relationships with students and parents establishing a partnering approach to learning.
Qualifications & Characteristics
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in education and registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
- Demonstrated commitment to the school’s Statement of Faith.
- Experience teaching Physical Education and Health at primary and/or secondary level.
- Sound knowledge of teaching from a Christian worldview perspective.
- Ability to utilise a range of teaching strategies as may be relevant.
- Ability to build strong partnering relationships and communication channels with students and parents.
Successful applicants will need to be in agreement with and model Chairo’s Statement of Faith.
