We’re seeking a highly organised and customer-focused individual to join our dynamic airport operations team. As a Terminal Operations Officer, you'll play a central role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our terminal facilities, supporting a wide range of stakeholders and contributing to an exceptional airport experience for passengers, tenants, and partners. If you enjoy variety in your day, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and take pride in delivering excellent service, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
The primary objective of the Terminal Operations Coordinator is to co-ordinate the day-to-day administration of Terminal operations, commercial, airport car parking facilities and ground transport activities and support the Terminals team to provide quality of service to customers of the airport including administrative support where necessary.
About the Position
In this diverse and hands-on role, you’ll support the Terminal Operations Manager and the wider team in day-to-day operations, contingency planning, and risk management. You’ll work closely with airlines, law enforcement, and regulatory agencies to address operational and security matters, always ensuring compliance with legislation and internal policies. From coordinating terminal activities and car park operations to responding to property tenant queries and overseeing minor facilities works, your contributions will touch almost every aspect of airport life.
You’ll play an active role in customer service initiatives, contribute insights to redevelopment projects, and manage service contracts to ensure quality and performance standards are met. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining records, supporting invoice processing, monitoring costs, and helping to ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and regulatory requirements. This is a collaborative role that requires regular communication with internal and external stakeholders and offers the opportunity to make a visible impact in a high-profile environment.
Selection Criteria
To thrive in this role, you'll bring strong customer service experience, ideally from a transactional or high-interaction environment such as retail or hospitality. You’re organised, detail-oriented, and confident managing competing priorities with minimal supervision. Your communication skills are both written and verbal are exceptional, and you're comfortable liaising with people at all levels. You have a basic understanding of accounting principles and experience maintaining administrative systems and accurate data records.
You’re a natural problem-solver with a proactive mindset and the ability to adapt quickly to new systems and processes. Eligibility for an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) is required, along with a current NT driver’s licence or the ability to obtain one.
It’s a bonus if you also have experience or knowledge in property or facilities management, exposure to parking management systems, and familiarity with platforms like TechnologyOne, SharePoint, Progen, or other contract management tools. While these are not essential, they will help you settle quickly into the role and expand your impact.
