The Role:

An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Clinician Occupational Therapist (OT3) to join the team at the 25-bed Broadmeadows Adult Inpatient Psychiatric Unit, Northern Health. Working alongside Medical, Nursing, Allied Health, and Lived Experience colleagues.

This role requires the Occupational Therapist to:

- Provide specialist occupational therapy assessments, interventions, and groups for people aged 16-65
- Design, implement, and evaluate the therapeutic group program which is a core intervention at BIPU
- Take an active role in the leadership and implementation of sensory modulation and sensory-informed approaches in reducing restrictive interventions
- Develop and maintain activity hubs within BIPU to support a wide range of safe and meaningful activities being available for consumers while in inpatient care
- Support and supervise the BIPU OT team made up of an OT1 and OT2
- Work closely with the wider BIPU team, sharing your clinical expertise and support quality initiatives and research

This position is ongoing part-time, 48 hours per fortnight; however, we also have additional Senior EFT at our Epping Mental Health Inpatient Unit if you are interested in a full-time role.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Expertise in developing and delivering interventions with consumers who have experienced serious mental illness and have complex mental health needs
- Interest and expertise in sensory modulation and group work
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong clinical leadership skills and ability to contribute effectively to a multidisciplinary team
- Genuine commitment to embedding recovery principles and trauma-informed care into practice
