Position Information

Melonba Public School is a brand new school located in the South Creek Network. The school is located in Melonba in the north-west growth corridor of Sydney which has a high proportion of EAL/D students. The school is situated in a diverse and multicultural community. It serves a range of students, including those with complex and challenging needs. Student enrolments are expected to increase significantly in the first five years of operation as the surrounding area undergoes extensive development.

The school has capacity for up to 1000 students. Melonba Public School will include three support classes for students with disabilities and additional learning needs with the first support class opening in 2026. Planning is underway for a preschool opening in 2027. The school is located at Swallowtail Street, Melonba, alongside the new Melonba High School.

Specific Selection Criteria

- Approval to teach infants and primary (K–6), with a demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, evidence-informed and differentiated literacy and numeracy programs, while fostering high expectations, effective behaviour management, and a positive learning environment that promotes student wellbeing and achievement.

- Highly developed communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, build positive relationships with students, staff and the community, and enrich student learning through a range of extracurricular opportunities.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
