Overview

This is a unique opportunity to work as studio coordinator at Arlpwe Art & Culture Centre and work with artists to take them into the next round of exhibitions and art fairs.

A core group of 16 are showing in a strong exhibition and award program. Artists have received awards, been acknowledged as highly commended and finalists in major art awards think Ravenswood Women’s Art Prize, and Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards. Their works have been exhibited in the prestigious Salon Des Refuses in Darwin, Melbourne, and Sydney. Works by Arlpwe artists are proudly represented in both private and public collections across Australia and beyond.

About the Organisation

Arlpwe Art & Culture Centre is a 100% community-owned organisation based in Ali Curung, in the Barkly Region of the Northern Territory. The Centre plays a vital role in supporting and promoting the rich artistic and cultural traditions of the Ali Curung community, representing four distinct language groups: Kaytetye, Alyawarr, Warlpiri, and Warumungu.

Located on Kaytetye Country, approximately 400km north of Alice Springs, Arlpwe has been a key cultural hub since its establishment in 2008. The name ‘Arlpwe’ (pronounced Ahl-boa) was bestowed by the Traditional Owners, reflecting the deep cultural significance of the Art Centre.

Position details

Arlpwe are offering a competitive salary package of $60,000 – $85,000 per annum, along with additional allowances and entitlements to be discussed during the interview process.
