Locum Recovery Worker, specialising in recovery services, is needed in Tamworth and Stafford, UK, offering an attractive rate of £21 per hour. What you will do:
- Provide vital harm reduction advice and support with a focus on safer drug use, safer sex, HIV, Hepatitis A, B, and C, and other blood-borne infections.
- Maintain a full caseload of clients as the key worker, ensuring each client’s needs are met.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, collaborate on care packages with multi-disciplinary colleagues, review care plans, and manage onward referrals effectively.
- Assist and support nurse prescribers during prescribing clinics, ensuring smooth operational flow.
- Deliver a range of structured psycho-social interventions, incorporating techniques such as CBT, solution-focused therapy, and motivational enhancement.
- Create and facilitate group work interventions, promoting community and shared learning.
- Operate a needle exchange service, contributing to community health and safety.
- Demonstrate a commitment to service user involvement, ensuring voices are heard and acted upon.
- Collaborate with a range of professionals to meet service users’ needs concerning safeguarding and mental health.
- Encourage service users to progress in their recovery, assisting them in moving away from maintenance treatment as appropriate.
Experience in substance misuse is required, ensuring you are ready to meet the challenges head-on in this dynamic field.
