The Role

As a Consultant / Specialist Anaesthetist, you will:

- Deliver high‑quality anaesthetic services across a broad case mix, including elective and emergency surgery

- Assist the Clinical Director with service planning, patient safety initiatives, and quality improvement

- Provide education and supervision to Registrars, Provisional Fellows, PHOs, JMOs and Interns

- Engage in research, audit, and multidisciplinary service development

Scope of practice

The Anaesthetics Department provides services for:

- Orthopaedics, trauma, general surgery, gynaecology, obstetrics, paediatrics

- ENT, dental, ECT and endoscopy

- Pre‑assessment clinic, acute pain service, obstetric epidural service

- Trauma and cardiac arrest team support

About You

- Fellowship of ANZCA (FANZCA) OR ANZCA SIMG assessment as Substantially Comparable

- Broad experience in anaesthesia, including emergency and paediatrics

- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment

- Strong leadership skills and commitment to patient safety and continuous improvement

- Dedication to teaching and mentoring junior doctors
