Under thedirection of the relevant Senior Registered Nurse(s), this rolepractises as a Staff Development Nurse in keeping with theAustralian Nursing and Midwifery Board Registration Standards andNursing Practice Decision Flowchart. Staff Development Nurseprovides ongoing assessment of the knowledge and skills of nursingstaff in designated ward/unit, as well as planning andimplementation of education and training programs and participationin the planning and implementation of hospital wide StaffDevelopment programs. In addition, this role provides support fornew staff, including orientation, coaching and preceptorship, andprovides clinical knowledge and expertise within the clinicalareas.
