When two organizations merge, we explore new ways of working that incorporate the strengths of both. As the Regional Advisor for the APAC region, you will introduce TELUS's core People & Culture practices to existing and new acquisitions, ensuring alignment with local regulations and context, and aligning policies and practices. This role combines HR expertise with regional knowledge to drive cultural transformation and operational excellence.
Reporting to the Director - P&C, you will work with the Senior Program Manager to establish and implement core practices. Collaborating with cross-functional teams across multiple geographies, your recommendations will help determine which global policies to adopt or adapt.
What you’ll do:
1. Employee Relations & Conflict Resolution: Lead confidential investigations and manage employee relations cases, including performance issues, workplace conflicts, and terminations.
2. Regulatory & legislative management: Stay current on local laws and standards, review and recommend amendments to global policies to ensure compliance, and identify regional trends to align practices accordingly.
3. Regional expertise: Advise the wider P&C Business Partner community on local requirements, conditions, and application of global policies within the local context.
4. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels—including Business Partners, Centers of Excellence, leaders, and team members—to ensure project and program success.
What you bring:
- 5+ years of HR generalist experience in a fast-paced, global organization, focusing on advising, investigating, policy implementation (respect in the workplace, H&S, employee relations, compliance).
- Proactive learner and resourceful partner with CoEs, BPs, and stakeholders to advance P&C policies in line with regional requirements.
- Comfortable with change and ambiguity, excels in collaborative environments.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Deep knowledge of local labor laws, employment regulations, and cultural nuances in Australia and New Zealand; regional expertise in other APAC areas is an asset.
What sets you apart:
- Experience in post-acquisition integration.
- Experience supporting HR processes across multiple countries is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Google Suite products.
- University degree in Business or related discipline.
- Language skills in Korean, Japanese, or others are assets.
