A great opportunity for a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our fully geared Defence Maintenance Contract team based at the Defence Base Workshop at Irwin Barracks in Karrakatta, WA. As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, you will conduct routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of heavy military vehicles, including 4WDs, trucks, tracked and armoured vehicles, infantry personnel carriers and even armoured tanks

- $55.51 an hour plus super

- Work 38 hours per week Monday to Friday and finish at 12 pm on Fridays

- Relocation assistance for the right candidate

- Work on unique Defence vehicle and assets

- All tools, PPE and Uniforms provided

About the role

- Conduct Maintenance tasks, including technical inspection and classification

- Repair or replace worn or faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines, transmissions and differentials

- Reassemble, test, clean and adjust repaired or replaced parts

- Carry out minor body repairs and minor trim repairs

- Test and repair electrical systems such as lighting, ignition and electronic fuel injection

- Inspect vehicles and issue road worthiness certificates

About you

- Cert III Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent level

- Demonstrated experience to inspect, repair and maintain Light, Medium and Heavy vehicles

- Must possess a current Australian State or Territory class HR Driver's License or be willing to obtain one

- You must be an Australian Citizen and able to maintain a Defence Security Clearance
