Data
Working in data at Mantel means there are opportunities to align to a particular cloud platform or remain cloud agnostic.
Our teams are made up of awesome people who specialise in numerous areas of data so there are endless opportunities for you including data engineering, machine learning, data analytics and data science.
Your day-to-day
- Work on more complex solutions, extending beyond building robust features, to meet and exceedclient expectations.
- Be a technical expert/SME in at least one data engineering area, while adopting new technologies.
- Continuously grow skills and keep certifications current to demonstrate deep technical expertise.
- Productionise AI models by building and monitoring high-performance data pipelines for batch orreal-time data.
- Build and deploy data lakes and data warehouses on cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Develop complex code-based ETL/ELT data pipelines with performance optimised data modelling.
- Work on BigData processing including handling PII, data formatting, wrangling, and preparation.
- Apply best practices in coding, monitoring, alerting, CI/CD, IaC, and cloud architectures.
- Lead small teams or operate as the senior technical person, working collaboratively in diverse teams.
- Work with project leadership to define scope, align expectations, manage dependencies, and mitigaterisks.
- Help identify potential opportunities within projects and client relationships.
- Participate in events to raise awareness of Mantel Group’s Data capability and build communityrelationships.
- Train, coach, and mentor others through on-the-job teaching, tutorials, and presentations.
- Use professional judgement, treating colleagues and clients with respect and compassion
What you’ll need to be successful
- Expertise in a broad range of data engineering approaches, covering theoretical best practices and thetechnical applications of these methods
- Demonstrable experience building and deploying data engineering pipelines into production, includingusing automation best practices for CI/CD
- Proficiency in data languages: SQL and at least one of Python or Scala, or if you have both that’sawesome
- Hands‑on experience with modern cloud and its native development tools, e.g. AWS/GCP/Azure,Databases, CI/CD, Airflow, etc.
- Have previously worked on medium to large scale data engineering projects
- Experience delivering engagements for clients
- The ability to engage with senior level stakeholders
- Previous commercial data experience, ideally across different industries and organisations
- Can collaborate effectively, not just with your immediate team, but with other people in both MantelGroup and our clients
- Understanding of how data teams work and the challenges that they face
