About the Role
Backcountry Outfitters is offering an exciting career opportunity within a growing, family-run company. We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and attentive Sales Agent Account Manager to service established retailer accounts across Victoria, South Australia, and Tasmania.
This role offers a base salary plus commission, company vehicle, phone, laptop, and other tools to help you succeed.
This role involves regular sales trips throughout the territory, focusing on:
- Driving sales and meeting targets.
- Maintaining and strengthening existing customer relationships.
- Protecting and growing market share in-store.
- Proactively seeking new business opportunities.
- You will be responsible for systematic appointment scheduling, call cycles, and effective territory management. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, deliver immediate results, and bring a proven track record in account management. Knowledge of firearms and the firearm industry is essential.

Role Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will include: Managing and servicing existing dealer accounts across VIC, SA, and TAS. Developing and implementing call cycles and territory plans. Driving sales growth and achieving monthly/quarterly targets. Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of products, promotions, and industry trends. Attending trade shows, dealer events, and training sessions. Using CRM tools (Inzant) and Microsoft Excel to track performance and provide accurate reporting.
Key Selection Criteria
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
- Strong client relationship management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proven sales experience, ideally in the firearms or outdoor industry.
- Ability to analyse sales data and prepare reports.
- High levels of organisation, attention to detail, and time management.
- A positive attitude, resilience, and problem-solving ability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, general computer skills, and CRM software.
Qualifications
- Industry knowledge: Firearms and hunting knowledge is essential.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in a similar sales/account management role (preferred).
- Licences: Current driver’s licence (required) and current firearms licence (required).
- Ability to travel regularly throughout VIC, SA, and TAS.
