About the Home
Bupa Armidale is an aged care home set in a converted heritage building in a leafy residential area. Just moments from the city centre with immediate access to public transport, shops and cafes. It consists of 46 beds. Our primary goal is placing our focus on the health, lifestyle and well-being of our residents. We have a great range of activities to meet our resident preferences and make it feel like home. We have a lovely group of supportive staff to ensure the care is delivered with passion and dedication.
About the Role
To deliver effective support to the hospitality function within the care home, including catering, cleaning and laundry. Use your food services and cleaning skills in a role where you really can make a difference by providing our residents with an empathetic and personal approach.
About you
Previous catering / food service or cleaning experience preferred but not essential. You will be a team player and someone who enjoys interacting with people and giving back to our most vulnerable.
Duties
- Maintain legislated workplace health and safety, quality and hygiene standards
- Complete required documentation and reporting
- Respond to residents’ queries and requests
- Laundry duties include loading washers & dryers, sorting linen, hanging, folding, wrapping or ironing linen
- Catering / food services duties include assisting with basic food prep, providing meals and snacks, clearing dining areas and dishwashing
- Cleaning duties include general cleaning; mopping, vacuuming, and waste collection in the residents’ rooms, bathrooms, communal and living areas
Skills and Experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Cleaning or catering experience preferred but not essential
- Flexible availability for a variety of shifts throughout the week
- You will have an understanding of work health, safety and hygiene practices and the ability to work unsupervised
