Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Diabetes Nurse Practitioner to join the Victorian Virtual Emergency Department.
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our five main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.
About the Role:
The Victorian Virtual Emergency Department (VVED) is rapidly growing since its conception as a pilot project in October 2020. Northern Health is expanding the scope of the Nurse Practitioner model to include provision of service via the VVED model of care.The opportunity to work in and contribute to the ongoing growth and development of the VVED service is another opportunity to extend your Nurse Practitioner scope of practice and can also offer opportunities for publication for those applicants who may be interested.
VVED are looking for experienced specialised Diabetes Nurse Practitioners to join our team.VVED patients present from the community, healthcare services or Ambulance Victoria across the state of Victoria and aremanaged though video consultations.
You will be supported by a motivated, dynamic senior leadership team as well as be able to participate in regular study and mentorship opportunities facilitated by our senior Medical staff.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Registration as a Registered Nurse with endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner (Diabetes)
- Previous experience and knowledge in managing adult diabetic patients with stable hypo and hyperglycaemic patients, and stable diabetic emergencies
- Demonstrated confidence and independence with diabetic care assessment
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development
- Evidence of commitment to quality improvement
- Commitment to also maintaining in-patient clinical facing experience outside of VVED employment.
