About the Role

As a Commis Chef, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality culinary experiences that align with our hotel’s commitment to excellence. This hands‑on position requires working in a safe, efficient, and hygienic manner while upholding the exceptional food standards our guests expect. You’ll be part of a passionate kitchen team that thrives on innovation, professionalism, and a shared purpose to make each day better for our guests, colleagues, and community.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook food items as directed, including baking, pastry, and butchery tasks

- Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety at all times

- Minimise food wastage through efficient preparation and storage practices

- Follow all standard operating procedures and WH&S guidelines

- Support senior kitchen staff and contribute to a positive team environment

- Maintain professional grooming and presentation standards

- Build positive relationships with colleagues across departments

- Stay informed about food products and culinary trends

Skills & Experience

- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or hospitality environment preferred

- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and WH&S practices

- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and follow instructions

- A proactive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn

- Excellent time management and attention to detail

- Formal culinary training or relevant certifications (desirable)
