Ngaanyatjarra Health Service (NHS), part of the Ngaanyatjarra Council Group, is seeking a dedicated and experienced General Practitioner (Medical Officer) to deliver high-quality, culturally safe primary health care across the Ngaanyatjarra Lands.
This is a rare and rewarding opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team, including remote area nurses, Aboriginal Health Practitioners, visiting specialists, and allied health professionals, providing clinical services at local community health centres and a regional aged care facility.
The successful candidate will contribute to a holistic, community-informed model of care addressing a wide range of health needs including chronic disease, mental health, maternal and child health, and aged care.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering clinical consultations and care planning
- Supporting Medicare billing through health assessments and care arrangements
- Using Communicare to maintain accurate and detailed clinical records
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives
- Supporting clinical supervision of medical students or registrars where required

About the Candidate
The ideal candidate is a fully registered medical practitioner with AHPRA, with experience in primary health care and a deep commitment to culturally respectful, patient-centred practice.
Key requirements include:
- Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM (essential)
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to multidisciplinary work
- Competence in digital health systems (Communicare experience advantageous)
- Advanced skills in emergency medicine, obstetrics, or other rural generalist disciplines (desirable)
- Medicare billing experience (advantageous)
- A current C-class driver’s license
- Eligibility to obtain a WA Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance
- Willingness to travel by 4WD or light aircraft across remote regions
