School Counsellor – Goolgowi Public School (0000B2O1)
Job Summary – School counsellors provide counselling and psychological assessment of students, strengthen learning outcomes, and support families.
Location
Regional NSW – Riverina & Murray (Goolgowi Public School – small rural school with enrolment 37 K‑6, 8 Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students).
Remuneration
Package valued up to $182,461. Base salary $101,122 – $160,983 plus leave loading and superannuation. Conditions under the Teachers award.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counselling for primary and high school aged students.
- Conduct psychological assessment, case formulation, and report writing.
- Collaborate with teachers, families, outside agencies, and multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, supervision, and register with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Support school holiday leave, travel allowances, and health and wellbeing benefits.
Qualifications & Conditions
- Registered or provisionally registered psychologist, or eligible for registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Experience in evidence‑based counselling interventions for children and young people.
- Experience in psychological assessment and report writing.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes of diverse students.
- Ability and willingness to travel between worksites.
- Eligibility to commence 03 February 2026 under the Teachers award (Crown Employees).
- Must hold unconditional, full approval to teach or commence the application process concurrently.
