About the Opportunity

The Interventional Radiology (IR) Service at Liverpool Hospital is a modern, specialised service that uses minimally invasive image-guided techniques to diagnose and treat patients. IR Services include General IR and Neurointerventional Radiology (NI) and support Vascular Surgery in Vascular IR. It is a clinically integrated service with outpatient procedural lists, inpatient management and 24-hour emergent care.

The IR field is rapidly evolving with innovative treatments available to local patients. This diverse range of treatments, along with the growing multi-cultural population of South Western Sydney, is resulting in a rapidly growing case load. Through the SWSLHD redevelopment project, IR has installed new state-of-the-art equipment to support these emerging treatments and provide a leading Interventional service. We currently operate Monday to Friday with 24/7 on call.

As an Interventional Radiographer you will have the opportunity to be involved in both General IR and NI cases, utilizing angiography, CT and ultrasound-guided modalities. We have recently opened a 3-room Nexaris suite with an Angio-CT and a dedicated Interventional MRI, the first of its kind in an IR department globally.

The Level 2 IR radiographer position provides an excellent training opportunity for someone looking to expand their skills in Interventional Radiology.
