About the Role
St Peters Lutheran College is seeking a dedicated and proven professional to perform the Interim Head of Senior School for the 2026 school year (maximum term contract). The Interim Head of Senior School is responsible and accountable to the Head of College through the Deputy Head of College for the day‑to‑day leadership and operation of the Senior Years (Years 10‑12), keeping them fully informed of Senior School matters. This influential role provides executive Leadership and Management for the Senior Years (Year 10 to Year 12) in the development and delivery of the academic, pastoral and co‑curricular programs and the day to day running of the Senior Years so that the Mission and Vision of the College is realised. As such you’ll be responsible for inspiring, leading and managing the Senior School (Years 10‑12), and overseeing its strategic direction within the broader College vision.
This role reports to the Head of College through the Deputy Head of College.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to and provide input into the development of the strategic directions for the College
- Provide effective leadership to ensure the safe and effective administration of the Senior Years. This includes the overall planning, implementation, and review of routine and incidental activities.
- Promote teaching and learning as the core business of the College, fostering a culture of excellence in teaching and learning for staff and students.
- Provide leadership and management in the area of Senior Years staffing for all aspects of the employee lifecycle including staff recruitment and appointments, new staff induction, staff development, staff supervision, staff appraisal, performance review, staff leave and industrial processes as they pertain to the Senior School.
- Foster an environment where each child in the Senior School can realise their potential and monitor the academic progress and pastoral needs of students in Year 10 to Year 12.
- Submit a yearly budget request for the Senior School in accordance with the relevant guidelines, discussing matters when necessary with the Head of College and the Chief Operating Officer.
- As with other senior positions within the College provide Spiritual Leadership to the College Community; consulting with the Chaplaincy team on the way in which the Gospel is to be promoted and communicated to parents, staff and students.
- Promote parents and their engagement as valued partners in the educational journey of Senior School students.
