Overview

Mount Isa Pets & Produce require three (3) warehouse assistant/Forklift operator workers. The position is required to perform tasks such as receiving freight, picking, packing and loading orders for customers and freight operators, and ensuring that the warehouse is kept in a clean and orderly manner. A forklift licence is essential to unload and load pallets of goods received into store from suppliers and to load goods onto freight operators for customers. The role is based in Mount Isa, Queensland.

Responsibilities

- Keep the warehouses clean and orderly; ensure items are stored correctly and safely.
- Package customer orders and load onto freight carriers and into customers’ personal vehicles.
- Check incoming products for damage and correct contents.
- Organize and store stock as directed.
- Deliver customer orders to their respective businesses, homes or horse paddocks.
- Ensure business surrounds are neat and orderly, including mowing, whipper snipping and weed management.
- Take excess rubbish to the waste management facility.
- Operate tools and equipment such as a forklift and truck, lawnmower, whipper snipper and general garden tools, plus other equipment appropriate to the work.
- Demonstrate teamwork, work quickly and with accuracy.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Forklift licence is essential for unloading/loading pallets and operating within the warehouse.
- Ability to perform physical work in outdoor and indoor settings.
- Experience or capability to work as part of a team and to work accurately under pressure.

Work Conditions and Terms

The work is physical and includes mostly outdoor exposure with some indoor work. The role is a full-time position under the Level 2 employee terms of the General Retail Award (MA000004) and offers a minimum of 38 hours per week. The job is located in Mount Isa, Queensland.
