We are proud to be partnered with a leading mining company to recruit an experienced Data Analyst / Reporting Specialist. This role is offered as an initial 6-month contract with the potential to transition into a full-time position.
Roster & Benefits
- DIDO Boddington 5/2, 4/3 roster
- 12-hour days | Competitive hourly rate | Paid weekly
Purpose of the Role
This position provides dedicated support for extracting, analysing, visualising, and reporting mining operational data, addressing a current gap in analytics capability. You will leverage your mining background, SQL expertise, and fleet management system experience (MineStar or equivalent) to deliver data-driven insights that support operational teams, business improvement initiatives, and senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Data Extraction & Management
- Extract and clean data from multiple operational sources.
- Develop and maintain robust SQL queries and views.
Data Analysis
- Conduct cost-benefit studies, trend analysis, and performance benchmarking.
- Provide actionable insights into fleet performance, production, and operational efficiency.
Reporting & Visualisation
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and visual tools.
- Present insights and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Operational & Business Improvement Support
- Partner with operational teams and BI Analysts to identify efficiency, safety, and productivity opportunities.
- Deliver timely, accurate insights to guide decision-making and project outcomes.
Required Skills & Experience
- Previous mining industry experience and strong understanding of operational environments.
- Hands-on experience with MineStar (or equivalent FMS).
- Strong SQL programming and data manipulation expertise.
- Demonstrated experience in mining operational reporting.
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights.
- Experience developing and managing Power BI dashboards.
- Exposure to business improvement frameworks and performance optimisation initiatives.
