In this autonomous position, the successful candidate will manage a diverse portfolio of urban planning projects, delivering both strategic and statutory planning outcomes. They will also provide expert planning advice to clients, stakeholders, and authorities, ensuring the effective delivery of projects in line with legislative requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

2. Prepare and review planning reports, submissions, and presentations for key stakeholders, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and legislation.
3. Provide expert advice and solutions for urban planning matters across various projects.
4. Oversee the preparation and submission of planning scheme amendments, development applications, and related documentation.

8. Contribute to the preparation and delivery of strategic planning projects such as land use studies, master planning, and urban renewal strategies.
Key Requirements:
1. Tertiary qualifications in Urban Planning, Town Planning, or a related field.
2. Basic understanding of planning legal practice and the ability to apply planning laws effectively.
3. Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently, and the ability to run the practice like your own business.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
5. Proven experience in managing urban planning projects and delivering successful outcomes.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on providing sustainable solutions to complex urban planning challenges.
Desirable Skills:
1. A minimum of 8 years' experience in urban planning, with a strong background in both statutory and strategic.
2. Post-graduate qualifications or membership with the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA).
3. Experience managing urban renewal or large-scale infrastructure projects.
4. Proficiency in GIS, AutoCAD, or other planning-related software.
Compensation and Benefits:
1. Competitive salary of $140,000 - $160,000.
2. Commission incentive for any new business brought in, equivalent to three times the salary.
3. Flexible work arrangements, allowing the successful candidate to work from anywhere.

If you are highly organised, can manage projects independently, and have a strong understanding of planning legal practice, this role is for you.
