The Deputy Chief Radiographer plays a pivotal role in supporting the operational leadership of the medical imaging department at St George Hospital, Kogarah. Focusing on workforce coordination, staff rostering, and people management, this position ensures appropriate staffing levels that balance resourcing with clinical demand.
By prioritizing staff wellbeing, professional development, and team performance, the Deputy Chief Radiographer fosters a positive workplace culture through open communication, staff engagement, and high professional standards.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule and coordinate staffing levels to meet clinical demands, ensuring optimal resource allocation and minimizing gaps in service delivery.
- Develop and implement effective rostering systems, balancing employee needs with operational requirements and compliance with policies and legislation.
- Maintain accurate records of staff leave, time off, and attendance, using HRIS tools such as Stafflink and HealthRoster.
- Analyze and interpret medical imaging performance data to inform decision-making and drive improvements in service delivery.
- Collaborate with senior clinicians and the Chief Radiographer to address staffing challenges, optimize workflow, and enhance overall departmental performance.
- A relevant undergraduate qualification in Medical Radiation Science or equivalent, accompanied by current AHPRA (MRPBA) registration and an EPA Radiation License.
- Proven experience in management, with a focus on enhancing staff performance, influencing workplace culture, and driving change.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience in preparing and interpreting complex data sets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with staff at all levels.
- A proven track record of success in similar roles, preferably within a high-volume, dynamic environment like a public hospital.
