The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Property Lawyer to be a part of DTMI and the meaningful work we do for the Western Australian Community.

Senior Solicitor SCL 5 (Maritime Leasing)

The DTMI is responsible for the development and management of a range of facilities, infrastructure and land across metropolitan and regional areas of the State, including, marinas, boat harbours, jetties and other maritime facilities. The DTMI has a sizeable lease portfolio involving the leasing of land and waters for commercial and community recreational purposes. Well known properties within the portfolio include the Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour and Hillarys Boat Harbour.

The Legal and Legislative Services (LLS) division of the DTMI has become well known as being an employer of choice. The team is comprised of diverse, experienced and professional Legal Practitioners who enjoy a positive work environment and good work life balance.

As a Senior Solicitor (SCL5) within this area, it is expected that you:

- autonomously provide legal advice on commercial leasing transactions with a focus on development/ground leases.

- Draft, negotiate and review a range of lease related agreements.

- Collaborate with other lawyers in the team, operational teams and external legal providers.

Although you will operate autonomously you will be supported by an SCL3 property solicitor and more generally by other senior solicitors in the LLS team.

There is currently One (1) Permanent, full-time position available for immediate filling

The successful applicant or applicants assessed as suitable through this process may receive further offers of employment (fixed term or permanent) in this or similar roles for a period of twelve (18) months from date of first appointment.
