And that’s where you come in.**Job Description:**Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated **S****enior System Software Tester/Integrator** to join us working in a dynamic team of Traffic Management System V&V Engineers. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in **Brisbane, Australia**. **About the Position:**The suitable candidate will have extensive experience in software intensive systems’ testing and integration activities, software verification and validation best practices and safety critical techniques, based on international standards (CENELEC), with a strong desire to improve software quality and test efficiency.You will be working in a diverse multicultural team which is driven by a common goal to achieve success. **Key accountabilities:*** Guarantee an effective and efficient preparation and execution of Factory and Site Tests to verify and validate against the system requirements, system architecture, interfaces and operating scenarios.* Creation of test cases using in-depth technical analysis of both functional and non-functional specifications.* Increase and consistently improve the automation of software testing supporting a continuous integration environment.* Support the coordination of systems requirements management activities.* Contribute to the issuing of the test and integration plans and ensure the integration activities implementation by a strict monitoring of the project’s activities and indicators.* Contribute to the maintenance of a list of project issues, making sure that this list is discussed and agreed with the Project Engineer and the Project Manager.* Capacity to engage constructively and respectfully with individuals of diverse backgrounds and ability to achieve high quality outcomes.**Required skills and knowledge:*** Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer Systems or Software Engineering or Information Technology* Rail Industry Worker card and competencies (current or eligible to obtain)* At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the rail signalling field* Demonstrable aptitude for automated testing of integrated systems* Good logical reasoning and problem investigation/solving skills* Good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to prepare test artefacts to a high standard* Demonstrable aptitude for manual and automated testing of an integrated system.* Knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the full software development lifecycle* Extensive software language knowledge for server side, front end and DevOps* Working knowledge in various programming/scripting languages, e.g. Java, Python, Selenium* Working experience with software platforms, e.g. Linux, VMware, Podman/Dockers* Competent with relational database technologies, e.g. MySQL, MariaDB* Good understanding of various network topologiesAt Hitachi Rail, we know that a diverse business is a sustainable business.
