Senior FP&A Analyst

We're on a mission to bring new and uplifting experiences to our guests, transforming flying from simply 'nice', to something wonderful.
Like any good mission, this one starts with our people.
Which is why we encourage our team to embody the fun, laid back, authentic spirit we've become famous for. Because when they're free to be themselves, they're better able to own their personal responsibilities and go the extra mile to help our guests.
Hello. We’re Virgin Australia. We’re the airline that’s always done things a little different. Our way. The Virgin way. We’re on a mission to make flying better than ‘nice’. And to do that, it takes a team of talented people who are passionate about customer experience, doing the right thing always, with a focus on safety – in the air, on the ground and in our workplaces. A team who values real diversity and inclusion, in a big brand with big ambitions.
What you’ll be doing:
As a Senior FP&A Analyst, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving commercial performance, strategic planning, and financial efficiency across our Commercial departments. You’ll take ownership of key financial deliverables including the consolidation of monthly financial packs, while delivering deep, commercially focused analysis on revenue drivers, cost of sales, and operational metrics. Your insights will directly influence business decisions, helping to identify revenue opportunities, mitigate leakage, and optimise return on investment across channels and segments. You’ll partner closely with the Department GMs, and colleagues across FP&A to deliver insights that shape business decisions and unlock value. This role is deeply embedded in a cross-functional environment, where your ability to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes is just as critical as your financial expertise. You’ll co‑develop business cases, build/review forecasts, identify risks and opportunities, improve business processes and support transformation initiatives, always with a focus on shared goals and collective impact.
You’ll also play a central role in the adoption and optimisation of new budgeting and planning tools, working alongside peers to enhance reporting capabilities and streamline processes. Your contributions will help elevate the team’s analytical capabilities and foster a culture of continuous improvement. The Commercial portfolio spans diverse revenue streams and cost categories, offering exposure to high‑impact areas and the opportunity to collaborate with teams across Revenue Management, Distribution, Sales, Marketing and Product & Customer Strategy. You’ll be part of a dynamic, performance‑driven environment where knowledge sharing, coaching, and mutual support are key to success.
This role offers a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of commercial finance, contribute meaningfully across functions, and grow within a collaborative, performance‑driven environment.
You'll be great in this role if you:
- Have a tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, or Economics (CA/CPA is a plus)
- Bring solid experience in budgeting and forecasting
- Know your way around financial and management reporting
- Excel at building strong stakeholder relationships and supporting the business
- Communicate clearly and confidently, with the ability to create and present polished reports in PowerPoint
- Love solving problems and have a keen eye for detail
- Are highly tech‑savvy, with advanced Excel skills, financial modelling expertise, and strong systems knowledge
- Have prior experience with FP&A and ERP systems like OneStream, TM1, or Oracle (preferred)
What you’ll get from us:
We’re committed to looking after you, with some of the best benefits and conditions in the industry – including (but not limited to):
- Heavily discounted air travel for you and your loved ones (including $1000 worth of travel credits per year)
- Flexible working arrangements (including work hours and work from home)
- Discounts on travel insurance, car hire, accommodation and experiences worldwide
- Hospitality, retail, technology, beauty services and wellness discounts
- Wellness support, including the Converge digital wellbeing platform
- A comprehensive Employee Assistance Program, which offers confidential coaching and support from qualified professionals for all aspects of life – physical, mental, social and financial
- Dress for Your Day – enjoy the freedom to wear whatever is appropriate for the type of work you do and the day you have ahead of you

We’re all individuals. We love that. That’s why we encourage applications from Indigenous Australians, people with disability, those from diverse cultural backgrounds, our friends in the LGBTQI+ community, and anyone else who wants to join our family.
