Consultant Clinical/Counselling Psychologist

The team offers Forth Valley-wide assessment and treatment to adults with diagnoses of Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, or Binge Eating Disorder. It works closely with CAMHS colleagues to provide an ageless service and manage transitions.
The main aim is to treat and support people as outpatients, with treatment provided on an individual basis or as part of a group. The team has access to beds in the Regional Eating Disorder Unit (REDU) at St John's Hospital, Livingston. It is multidisciplinary, comprising a consultant clinical/counselling psychologist (this post), nurse therapists, dietitians, and psychiatrists. Evidence-based treatment is tailored to individual needs, often involving joint packages of care between disciplines.
The postholder will provide leadership to the team, developing this in collaboration with the Clinical Director (Consultant Psychiatrist) and the Service Manager. They will also operationally manage two part-time nurse therapists and maintain a clinical caseload. The postholder will be part of the Psychological Services Management Group (PSMG) and responsible for managing waiting times within Eating Disorders, contributing to overarching Psychological Services initiatives. While working across three days is desirable, other work patterns will be considered. Key meetings occur on Tuesdays within both Eating Disorders and Psychological Services.
Minimum Requirements
- Experience working with eating disorders
- Understanding of issues relevant to NHS eating disorders and psychological therapies services
- Proven management and leadership skills
- Membership of the PVG Scheme (details at www.disclosurescotland.co.uk)
