Located at the St Kilda Road campus, the Head of Faculty - Mathematics is responsible for all curriculum development and pedagogy across Years 7 - 12 and for promoting creative, innovative thinking and practice among colleagues.

Position and Scope

With the assistance of a Faculty Coordinator, the Head of Faculty - Mathematics manages the teaching staff and the curriculum implementation needs of a relatively large Mathematics faculty. The role emphasizes growing and progressing outcomes in VCE Units 3 and 4 Mathematics and IBDP programs, and, more broadly, supporting Curriculum Coordinators and other Heads of Faculty, Head and Deputy Head of Campus, Head of Learning and Teaching and the Digital Learning Practice team.

Responsibilities

- Provide leadership for curriculum development and pedagogy for Mathematics across Years 7–12.
- Lead and manage teaching staff with support from the Faculty Coordinator.
- Progress outcomes in VCE Units 3 and 4 Mathematics and IB Diploma Program (IBDP) courses.
- Collaborate with Curriculum Coordinators and other Heads of Faculty, Head and Deputy Head of Campus, Head of Learning and Teaching, and the Digital Learning Practice team to support school-wide learning initiatives.

Terms and Conditions

This position is for an initial 3-year term, commencing in 2026, with an ongoing teaching role. It is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position, comprising a 0.64 FTE teaching load.
