Reporting to the Finance Support Officer playing a critical role in the end-to-end delivery of our core transactional finance processes. Most importantly, you’ll bring a customer‑centric mindset providing friendly, clear, and reliable support to team members, volunteers, suppliers, and stakeholders. In a nutshell, the Finance Support Officer will: Keep our financial engine running You’ll own the end-to-end bookkeeping, including processing of AP, AR, corporate cards, payroll, and bank reconciliations. You’re someone who loves structure, consistency, and accuracy ensuring data is complete, compliant, and ready for reporting deadlines. You’re the type of person who feels satisfied when everything balances and nothing slips through the cracks. Support people with clarity and care You’ll be the go‑to person for finance queries, providing helpful and customer‑friendly support to internal teams, suppliers, and partners. Whether it’s answering questions, assisting with credit card processes, or troubleshooting invoice issues, you communicate clearly and always keep people at ease. Improve, streamline, and contribute Orange Sky is constantly looking for better ways of working—and you will be part of that. You’ll support process automation, system improvements, and data hygiene to enhance overall financial operations. Your ability to learn quickly, adapt to change, and suggest improvements will make you a trusted voice within the finance team. To be successful, you’ll ideally have: - Experience in a finance support, accounts, or payroll role. - Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes. - Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. - Experience with accounting software (Xero preferred). - Strong numeracy and data‑entry accuracy. - Understanding of basic accounting and payroll principles. - High attention to detail and ability to deliver consistent accuracy. - Excellent time management and ability to work to tight deadlines. - Strong communication and customer service skills. - Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks. - Comfortable with change, learning, and improving processes. - Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion. - Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (preferred but not essential).
