About the Role

Gapcon Power Solutions is seeking a qualified A-Grade Licensed Electrician to join our Perth-based team. This full-time position involves the installation, testing, maintenance and commissioning of high‑voltage (HV) and low‑voltage (LV) electrical protection systems across industrial and utility sites.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform routine inspections, testing and maintenance of HV/LV protection relays, circuit breakers and associated equipment.

- Install and wire protection systems in accordance with schematic and single‑line diagrams.

- Analyse and interpret protection settings, relay configurations and fault records to identify and resolve operational issues.

- Conduct commissioning and functional verification of new protection systems.

- Provide technical support to project, engineering and maintenance teams.

- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with electrical safety legislation, site standards and company procedures.

- Contribute to the continuous improvement of protection testing processes and safety outcomes.

Skills and Experience

- Current WA A‑Grade Electrical Licence.

- Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician or equivalent qualification.

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in protection testing, commissioning or maintenance in the power or heavy‑industrial sector.

- Strong understanding of protection principles, fault‑finding and relay coordination.

- Experience using secondary injection, primary injection and relay testing equipment.

- High attention to safety, accuracy and quality control.

- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
