The school has a medium proportion of students with English as an Additional Language.

2021/2022 has seen high levels of change for Hillsmeade PS with the establishment of a new leadership team and newly appointed Principal in Term 4 2021. The school completed their review at end of 2021 and have established a new Strategic Plan that will be implemented until 2024. Moving forward there will be a clear direction for maintaining the upward trend of overall student achievement and the wellbeing of our students, as per the introduction of FISO 2.0. In 2022 the AIP goals are focussed on the DET priority that Some of our students have thrived in the remote learning environment, others have maintained their learning progress, and some need extra learning and wellbeing support despite the best efforts of their teachers and families. In 2022 we will continue to focus on student learning - with an increased focus on numeracy - and student wellbeing through the 2022 Priorities Goal, a learning Key Improvement Strategy and a wellbeing Key Improvement Strategy. We will teach and support each student at their point of need and in line with FISO. Our strategies have included working as Professional Learning Teams using student data to discuss and share best practice teaching strategies, the ongoing implementation of our Hillsmeade Instructional Model as well as a strong digital learning platform, developed to assist in rigorous teaching and learning practices, during remote and flexible learning.

Our Early Learning Centre caters for 3 to 5 year old children with Kindergarten and Long Day Care. Out of School Hours Care Program provides further community support for our families. Parent participation on school council, as classroom helpers, kindergarten helpers, in curriculum events and fundraising activities, is a vital part of school life.

This school has 80.7 equivalent full time staff including 58 teachers and 27 Education Support staff. Staffing for the Early Learning Centre is included in these figures. The kindergarten teachers are part of a professional learning team and participate in all our classroom teacher professional development and staff meetings. Kindergarten is another year level of the school and fully integrated.

**Selection Criteria**:
**SC1** Demonstrated experience and skills in performing maintenance and groundskeeping responsbilities.

**SC2** Demonstrated capacity to work independently to fulfil specific projects and ongoing regular maintenance tasks.

**SC3** Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills.

**SC4** Possess the technical knowledge and expertise relevant to the position.

**SC5** Demonstrated capacity to provide advice and support to management: proactive identification of hazards and impending maintenance tasks, and identfication of costs savings and efficiency outcomes with regard to ongoing maintenance and development of the school and grounds.

**Role**:
Range 3 is distinguished by the introduction of management responsibility and accountability for the delivery of professional support services. The role will usually impact beyond the work area or professional field. It seeks to gain cooperation of other staff members or members of the school community to achieve specific objectives, such as in school administration, operations or educational programs.
