Sunnybank Private Hospital is seeking a dedicated and professional Ward Clerk to join our Medical Ward Unit on a full time basis. You will play a key role within a supportive team to ensure our patients have a great experience during their care.

Sunnybank Private Hospital is an evolving facility that has provided care to the local community for over 40 years and continually embraces the highest quality of holistic patient care. Recently undergoing a significant redevelopment, our facility has new consulting suites, operating theatres, day surgery and endoscopy suites as well as a refurbished medical unit. The facility is comprised of 122 inpatient beds, 7 operating theatres, 2 procedure rooms and an ICU.

**As a Ward Clerk your responsibilities will include**:

- Greeting patients, families and other customers
- Liaising with Doctors and nursing staff to ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day operations of the ward
- Preparation of patient files, appointment lists and coordination with other ward clerks to obtain ward patient files
- Medical record filing
- Providing clerical support to the clinical team
- Liaison with allied health, wardspersons and other hospital departments when required to facilitate patient treatments or transfers

**Essential Criteria**:

- Previous experience as a ward clerk on a medical or surgical ward is essential
- WebPas Patient Administration System user knowledge and experience ideal but not essential
- Ability to work within the team and prioritise administration tasks with mínimal direction
- Good understanding of medical terminology
- Good communication and excellent customer service skills
- Commitment to service excellence
- Ability to prioritise and organise work, with mínimal supervision
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- High level attention to detail
