Assist Ability Australia is a leading organisation dedicated to providing support and services to individuals with disabilities. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled HR Officer to join our team. The HR Officer will play a critical role in supporting our HR department in various functions related to recruitment, employee relations, training and development, and HR administration.

**Responsibilities**

**Recruitment and Selection**:

- Coordinate the recruitment process, including job posting, resume screening, interviewing, and selection.
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring a smooth transition and integration into the organisation.

**Employee Relations**:

- Provide guidance and support to employees on HR policies, procedures, and employee benefits.
- Address employee queries and concerns, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
- Assist in the management of employee performance evaluations, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Contribute to fostering a positive work environment through employee engagement initiatives.

**Training and Development**:

- Coordinate and facilitate employee training programs, workshops, and professional development initiatives.
- Collaborate with managers to identify training needs and develop training plans to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Assist in the implementation of performance management processes and initiatives.

**HR Administration**:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and internal policies.
- Prepare HR-related documents, such as employment contracts, letters of offer, and HR reports.
- Support HR projects and initiatives, ensuring timely completion and effective implementation.
- Assist in the development and enhancement of HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.

**Qualifications**

**Non-Essential but ideal**
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience using Brevity software.

**Essential**
- Proven experience in an HR support role, preferably in a similar organisation or within the disability support sector.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.
- Familiarity with recruitment and selection processes, employee relations, and training and development.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Google Suite.
- High level of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism.
- Working With Children’s Check
- NDIS workers screening check
- Current police check
- NDIS workers orientation module
