**The Role**
- The position is responsible for the provision of a high-quality service to support the efficient and effective delivery of the Health Information Service.
- This includes the quality review of and maintenance of the Patient Master Index, processing of clinics/ward returns, retrieval and delivery of records, electronic tracking and filing of records, Medico-legal/Release of Information in accordance with privacy guidelines, Compilation of statistics on records for coding, and follow up on reports and test results for clinical coding
- This position is an essential part of the team that prides itself on excellent customer service and support service functions for smooth and timely Lifehouse operations

**Selection Criteria**

**Essential**
- Previous administration experience in an office environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of Patient confidentiality.
- Demonstrated experience in data entry and/or record processing.
- Ability and commitment to working independently as well as part of a team in an effective manner.
- Ability to manage a physically active and demanding workload.
- Ability to use a wide range of computer hardware, software and electronic systems to complete work activities.
- Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritise and distribute work appropriately.

**Desirable Experience /Qualifications/** **Skills/ Knowledge**
- Knowledge of and/or experience in cancer services.
- Experience with Patient Administration Systems and/or Electronic Record systems.
