**Worawa Aboriginal College are seeking a Deputy Prinicpal to join their Leadership Team on a fixed term contract.**

Reporting to the Executive Director (Principal), the Deputy Principal assists the Principal with strategic planning and the day to day management and leadership of the school program, working with the Head of Learning and Teaching on matters relating to school programs, staff and student management to maximise the learning opportunities of the students.

The Deputy Principal will also deputise for the Executive Director when necessary and support the Executive Director in the administration of the College through membership of the executive with responsibility for planning, communication, implementation and evaluation of College programs to ensure the achievement of the vision and goals of Worawa.
- Providing Leadership to the Head of Learning and Teaching and the Learning and Teaching team, provide feedback and coaching where identified
- Ensure positive relations with teaching staff and a cohesive teaching team
- Advise, organise and administer the professional development of staff
- In liaison with the Executive Director participate in the appointment of staff
- Prepare student groupings and ensure diagnostic assessments of students are considered and utilised to determine student groupings
- To provide leadership in the continuing process of curriculum develpment and implementation
- In liaison with members of the executive develop/maintain the culture of the College ensuring the Worawa Aboriginal College (WAC) ethos and model are foundational to all decisions/actions
- Public relations and community liaison, promoting Worawa Aboriginal College ethos to the wider community and arranging events
- Develop initiatives and keep informed of current developments in education to assist in the maintenance of the College as a leading and viable educational institution
- Facilitate and contribute to reports and audits as required
- Current VIT Registration
- Experience in a similar leadership role in the education environment leading an academic team
- Extensive teaching experience, preferably in a similar environment
- A proven capacity to lead, develop and inspire staff and encourage a culture of innovation, professionalism and collaboration
- Ability to translate strategic directions into operational outcomes with a proven ability to think and plan strategically, form and carry out action plans and evaluate outcomes
- Ability to work in a co-led model with Aboriginal people demonstrating an ability to develop functional working relationships with the breadth of staff at Worawa and external providers
- Ability to maintain solidarity and confidentiality with the Executive team
- Self-motivated, conscientious, reliable and enthusiastic, a desire to be actively engaged in the life of the School

Desirable experience;
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the diversity of Aboriginal society and an ability to communicate sensitively with Indigenous Australians, experience working in an Aboriginal organisation will be highly regarded
- Systems experience in Compass, Micorsoft Teams, Employment Hero, Go1 Learning Management System
