**Salary Range**: $57,149 - $59,336 (Plus Super)

We are seeking a hardworking, enthusiastic individual who would like to join the Clare Holland House team as a Ward Services Officer. This role involves working a rotating roster.

Clare Holland House is located on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin in Barton, providing specialist care to patients with life-limiting illness in a hospice setting.

About the role

The Ward Services Officer (Wards person/Orderly) provides support and assistance to the clinical care team who deliver Palliative Care to patients within the Hospice setting. Services must be provided in a courteous and efficient manner with particular attention to customer service. The Ward Services Officer practices under the direction and supervision of the Registered /Enrolled Nurses. Supervision may be direct or indirect, depending upon the nature of the task. At all times the Ward Services Officer retains responsibility for their own actions and remains accountable to the Clinical Nurse Consultant and the Registered Nurse for all delegated functions.

Key Responsibilities

Assist nursing staff to perform physical duties including medium strength manual handling

Assisting with moving and setting up required patient equipment

Assist nursing staff to maintain a clean and tidy clinical space

Demonstrated ability to maintain a very high level of confidentiality and security of information.

Excellent customer service skills

Demonstrated ability in undertaking patient transfers and other manual handling tasks in accordance with hospital policy and safe work practices

Ability to prioritise work and perform effectively under pressure

Experience in a health care setting

A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
