**Position Information**:
Fort Street Public School, established in 1842 as the Model School for exemplary education, is an inner-city school located in Sydney's historic Rocks area with a current enrolment of 278 students, Kindergarten to Year 6. Fort Street has a proud tradition of providing excellence in educational programs in a nurturing and inclusive environment. The school serves a culturally and linguistically diverse community, with 84% of students from a Language Background Other Than English.

The school, located in one of Sydney's iconic heritage and cultural locations atop Observatory Hill, commands outstanding views across the harbour and provides students access to a wealth of significant educational experiences. The school has undertaken an expansive rebuild to allow for a student capacity of 550 in addition to providing world class, future focused educational facilities. The school's professional body includes a balance of experienced and early career teachers, cohesive and supportive executive and administration teams and highly skilled classroom Support Officers.

Students pursue academic excellence along with a range of extra curricula high-interest and targeted enrichment programs including STEM, Public Speaking, Debating, Chess, PSSA representative Sports and an extensive Music program. **Selection Criteria**:

Ensure evidence-informed teaching strategies support individual student progress, achievement and wellbeing.

Promote equity by recognising the uniqueness of all cultures, languages and communities.

Foster and sustain a collaborative culture that enables complex problem solving and evidence informed decisions for planning, teaching and assessing within a co teaching partnership.

Lead and support the implementation of effective classroom management strategies that enable an engaging and safe learning environment.

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5.
