**The Opportunity**:

- Lithgow City Council _has an exciting opportunity for a **Trainee Treatment Plant Operator **to join their team for a period of two (2) years.

For the duration of the traineeship you will complete a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations through a combination of formal training and on the job experience. You will be assisting in the operation of the Lithgow Water Treatment Plant at Lithgow, Wallerawang and Portland Sewage Treatment Plants.

More specifically, your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

- Assist with managing Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant operations and Wastewater Pumping Stations
- Assist with daily inspections, routine maintenance, daily maintenance and emergency repair of Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant and Pumping Stations
- Assist with maintaining water and wastewater mains and services
- Assist with after hours call outs
- Tafe and study requirements to complete Certificate III in Water Industry Operations

- Minimum completion of Year 10 obtaining School Certificate or Record of School Achievement (RoSA)
- Satisfactory academic record

**Salary and Benefits**:

- Trainee grade ranging between $564.40 and $1,154.20 per week, commencing salary is based on successful applicants age, skills, qualifications and experience (applicants over 18 years of age, varying rates will apply, for under 18 years of age as per Trainee Award provisions)
- Temporary two (2) year traineeship
- Full-time, 38 hours per week
- Ongoing learning and development opportunities
- Work/Life balance with a rostered day off every 2nd week
