**Rates**: $110 - $140 per hour (inc. super) - EL1 to EL2

**Roles range between EL1 to EL2**

Solution Design Managers are responsible for the successful planning and implementation of ICT solutions to support the overall business goals and objectives of the functional area. They are responsible for engaging and liaising with the business areas and customers to articulate process improvements and problem resolutions. Solution Design Managers exercise a considerable degree of independence, with decision making substantially dependent on their high-level judgement and consideration of wider agency implications. They drive innovation, change in workplace practices, and organise work in the context of competing priorities and strategic direction.

**BASED ON YOUR LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE THESE WILL BE THE MAIN DUTIES REQUIRED FOR THE LEVEL AND THE RATE AT THE APPLICATION WILL NEED TO BE IN LINE WITH YOUR EXPERIENCE**:
**EL1 (main duties/skills/attributes)**:

- lead and support operations of the team, including monitoring business performance, setting priorities, and managing resources and workflow
- oversee the development and implementation of the ICT solution
- highlight and identify gaps in existing functionality and functional interdependencies
- undertake and contribute to business management, strategic planning, and workforce planning
- manage team contribution to the costing process and ensure project deliverables and milestones are met on time and within budget
- report on the achievement of business outcomes, key performance indicators and quality assurance to manage overall performance
- monitor and manage work output and quality against established performance standards through interpretation of quality analysis and reporting
- encourage innovation, continuous improvement and manage and support change
- build action plans and make operational decisions on policies, tactics and resources critical to the business
- prepare and review a range of written material including technical and corporate documentation
- collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve project outcomes, build service delivery capability, and influence business outcomes
- think strategically and align operational activity accordingly
- grasp expectations and concerns, and negotiate quality outcomes
- develop and manage a range of internal and external stakeholder relationships
- manage and resolve conflict using appropriate strategies
- understand the audience and context, and effectively tailor communication
- manage staff and competing priorities to achieve quality outcomes and project completion
- assess risks and implement mitigation strategies
- undertake objective, systematic analysis and draw accurate conclusions based on evidence
- make decisions based on professional judgment, risk evaluation and in the context of the environment
- develop long term plans for the team and manage work in the context of business priorities
- work highly independently under broad direction and act collaboratively

**EL2 (main duties/skills/attributes)**:

- oversee the operations and management of a team, including managing business performance, established priorities, and managing resources and workflow
- align the value chain with portfolio, development, and solution packaging
- develop and execute a solution vision for product expansion
- drive innovation, continuous improvement, and manage and lead change
- translate market trends, insights and customer needs into relevant solutions
- develop strategies to identify and resolve system issues
- use progress against business outcomes, key performance indicators and quality assurance reports to inform overall management, strategic direction, and future planning
- identify and leverage best practice pipeline growth activities, including business planning, development, execution, and measurement
- set direction by contributing and aligning to local business plans and ICT strategies
- oversee, review, and advise on a range of written material, including technical and corporate documentation
- negotiate, engage, and manage relationships with other agencies and service providers to build service delivery capability
- collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve project outcomes
- attend interagency meetings and forums to influence business outcomes and share information
- manage finances, contracts, procurement, resources, and expenditure within area of responsibility
- oversee team contribution to costings process
- understand linkages and develop long term strategic plans for the work area while considering work in the context
